Art From The Vine Our First Art Gallery Show
Rocks New Mexico with the Power of Gourds!!!!
Our very first juried art gallery show was a HUGE success! It was displayed in July at the Arts Alliance Gallery in Albuquerque, where a record number of people attended the show. Twenty-nine NMGS members submitted work for the show, which included all types of gourd art, such as vessels, masks, figures, jewelry, ornaments, gourd critters, and a few really unique pieces: a guitar, a fountain, and a diorama. We sold a whopping 44 pieces of art, another way that the show was a hit! At the reception on July 18th, some 200 or so folks came to look at all the beautiful art, and to eat some of the excellent food provided by members. Our first all gourd art show in New Mexico was an outstanding success!
